Deck stain colors
In the extensive range of Osmo Netherlands, there are many different products for staining decking. There are 18 different colors and 1 colorless variant of the decking stain. You can find the most popular colors below in the color overview. The Decking Stain is a transparent stain, meaning you can still see the wood structure and grain; it is therefore not an opaque stain.
Staining decking black
For staining decking black, Osmo offers the color Ebony 712; this color is very close to black. With two coats of 712 Ebony, you achieve a beautiful black appearance on the decking.
Staining decking grey
There are 4 different grey decking stains. These all contain a slightly different shade of grey. The 905 Patina creates a kind of beautiful, even greyed appearance on the wood, while of course protecting it. The 903 Basalt Grey is slightly greener/greyer in color, the 906 Pearl Grey is a bit lighter, and the 907 Quartz Grey is a bit darker grey. So, you have plenty of options with Osmo's grey stains.

How do I stain a deck?
Have you just had a deck installed, or do you already have a wooden deck that you want to stain? Then we explain here, step by step, how to stain a deck.
Ensure that any old layer, such as varnish, water-based stain, or paint, is sanded away first so that the wood is bare. Finish with 120 grit sandpaper for an even surface. Sanding is not necessary for new and untreated wood. However, always allow new wood to weather outdoors for 6 weeks.
Apply the first coat in the desired color to the wood. Use a brush, paintbrush, or microfiber roller for this. With 1L, you can stain approximately 26m²; the product has a high yield. Apply the stain thinly to the wood, always following the grain of the plank and wood, and brush it out well.
Allow the wood to dry for at least 12 hours at a minimum of 10 degrees Celsius. Also, ensure that the wood cannot get wet while the stain is drying. After complete drying, apply the second coat of Deck Stain.
Allow this to dry for at least 12 hours as well; see point 3. After drying, the deck is protected against all weather conditions, dirt, and mold.
Staining hardwood decking
A major advantage of Osmo Deck Stain is that it is suitable for treating all types of outdoor wood. It therefore does not matter whether you have a deck made of Spruce, Bankirai, Douglas fir, or Garapa wood. All these wood types can be treated with the Deck Stain.
Staining Bankirai decking
Bankirai is a popular wood type for decking; this hardwood has a high durability class and lasts a long time, especially after being treated with Osmo Deck Stain. Osmo also has two Bankirai colors in its range, which have been specially developed for staining Bankirai wood.
Staining Douglas fir decking
Douglas fir decks can also be treated with the Stain. Douglas fir is a durable wood type that lasts a long time. By staining the wood, you ensure that the Douglas fir retains its beautiful color.
