Your own little piece of the outdoors: you want to enjoy it to the fullest. However, the harsh winter may have caused your garden to look a bit neglected. To enjoy a beautiful garden in the summer, however, you will need to get to work now. That way, you can benefit from your newly renovated garden as early as the first days of summer. Contrary to popular belief, it is certainly not necessary to set aside a large budget or hire a landscaper for this. In just a few simple steps, you can make your garden look much better. Curious how to go about it? We are happy to give you a few handy tips!
Where to start?
Renovating a garden can be a major undertaking. It is not always easy to determine where to start. We recommend starting by thinking about what your future garden should look like. An elaborate garden design is not necessary for this, but it is important to set a clear goal to work towards. For example, determine the colors you want to incorporate into the garden, which plants you might find attractive, and what garden furniture you would like to have. Then, create a brief overview of everything needed to organize this. This creates a clear step-by-step plan that you can follow.
Major garden cleaning
The garden will look a whole lot better after a thorough clean-up. Due to the cold and wet autumn and winter weather, the garden may be suffering from a layer of green and mossy deposits. Don't worry, you can easily tackle that too. It is best not to attack this deposit with a high-pressure washer. The high pressure of the sprayer can cause damage to the top layer of stone or wooden surfaces. Not only is that a waste, but it can also cause deposits to return even faster. We would also advise you to avoid chemical cleaners. Instead, use our Osmo patio cleaner. This powerful cleaner removes green deposits without damaging the surface. In addition, it inhibits the growth of new deposits. That is nice, as it means you won't be spending so long cleaning again next year. Do you have time to spare? Then consider other greenery as well. For example, make sure the lawn is kept nice and short and weed the weeds between the tiles.

De-grey the garden furniture
Garden furniture makes spending time in your garden much more pleasant. However, wooden garden furniture can quickly turn grey in the winter if not protected. That is a real shame, as purchasing a new garden set can add up to quite a lot of money. Is it already too late for your garden furniture and has it turned significantly grey? Don't worry, we have a solution for that too! The Osmo Power-Gel Wood De-greaser is ideally suited for de-greying outdoor wood. The Power-Gel acts as a deep cleaner and ensures that dirt and greying are removed from the wood. The Power-Gel restores the wood's original color, making the garden furniture look like new again. Afterwards, you can finish them with an Osmo treatment of your choice. For example, go for a splash of color with Osmo Country House Paint. Prefer a natural look? Then you might prefer to choose the Osmo Natural Oil Stain.
Outdoor wood treatments
Don't forget the fence!
A large part of the backyard consists of fencing. This might not seem to be the case, as it mainly involves vertical square meters. However, a fence is a surface you look at frequently. When it has a green or greyed appearance, it may not provide the most pleasant view. So be sure not to forget to tackle the fence with the Power-Gel Wood De-greaser as well. Do you want to protect the fence against greying caused by UV radiation for as long as possible? Then apply the Osmo UV Protection Oil after de-greying. This wood finish protects outdoor wood against UV damage up to 12 times longer.
Create an atmosphere
Is everything clean and tidied up? Then it's time to add some atmosphere to the garden! You really don't need a large budget for that. A few green plants or a string of mood lights will quickly make the garden much cozier. Place the plants in a colorful pot or choose flowering plants to add some color to the garden. This way, the garden immediately feels much more cheerful.
