Treating a mango wood table
By treating a mango wood table, you create a protective surface. The product you can use for this is Osmo TopOil 3028 Silk Matt. This stains the mango wood as if it has been wet, with a silk-matte finish. The wood grain and patterns are brought out more prominently.
The white variants, 3037 White and 3068 Natural, are not suitable for treating this type of wood. Mango wood is a somewhat darker wood and is often rough. As a result, products containing white pigment will turn white on the wood. TopOil 3058 Matt can also turn white on mango wood. Therefore, we only recommend TopOil 3028 Silk Matt for mango wood.
Applying Mango Wood Stain
You can apply this mango wood stain in two ways. You can roll or brush on two thin coats. Use the Osmo Microfiber Roller or Brush for this and apply the product in the direction of the wood grain.
You can also treat the wood by polishing. This can be done with the Osmo Pads; use the white pad to apply the stain. Apply the product in the direction of the wood grain and board and let it dry for 20 minutes. Next, use the Osmo Fleece pad to dry-buff the stain; this ensures that you remove excess product. Perform this action in the direction of the grain and board as well. When buffing, it is recommended to apply a total of 3 to 4 coats. This is because you apply less product per coat compared to rolling or brushing.
**Protecting Mango Wood**
By staining mango wood with Osmo, you ensure that the table is protected against drinks, greasy food, and oil. Moisture and oil remain on the wood like a water bead effect, and grease stains cannot penetrate the wood, making stains a thing of the past.
Additionally, the mango wood stain bears the "Food Safe" quality mark. This means that after treatment with the product, you can eat from the table, tapas board, or kitchen without worry, knowing that toxic substances or similar items are not present. get rid of it. After all, the product consists of natural vegetable oils and waxes.
Cleaning a mango wood table
Cleaning a mango wood table treated with Osmo is very simple. You can clean the wood without damaging it using the Osmo Spray Cleaner. This handy spray cleaner is easy to apply to the wood. The cleaner contains oil-based soaps, which prevents the wood from drying out (unlike water alone, which causes limescale). It is recommended to use the Spray Cleaner approximately once a week.
For minor wear marks and stains from markers, for example, Osmo Liquid Maintenance Wax is the right maintenance product. You simply polish this product onto the affected areas using the Easy Pad Polishing Cloths, and the table will look like new again. By regularly maintaining the mango wood, you ensure that the wood remains protected for a long time, allowing you to enjoy the wood for years to come.
