Osmo Hardwax Oil 3032 Silk Matte

Osmo Hardwax Oil 3032 Silk Matt is a colorless wood finish. After treatment, the wood is protected against moisture and dirt, and is scratch-resistant.

Suitability by wood type

The product is suitable for treating wooden floors such as oak, pine, and beech. When applied in a thin layer, this product is suitable for almost all indoor floors, except for some tropical hardwoods. In this case, use Osmo Clear Wax.

What effect does Osmo Hardwax Oil 3032, Silk Matt provide?

The effect created by Osmo 3032 is a very natural look; it colors the wood as if it has been wetted. After treatment, the wood may become slightly darker or yellower and acquire a satin sheen. Would you prefer no discoloration? For light wood types, you can choose Osmo Hardwax Oil Effect; this preserves the light color of wood types such as spruce, pine, and oak.

The combination of oil and wax makes the product highly suitable for wooden floors. After treatment, the wood is protected against moisture such as red wine, coffee, and cola. In addition to protection, Hardwax-Oil 3032 can also be touched up locally. If you are dealing with severe damage, the affected plank can be sanded down and given a new, thin layer of 3032. Furthermore, after drying, the product is not harmful to humans, animals, or plants. It can therefore also be used for tapas boards and children's toys.

Finishing with two coats

When using only Hardwax-Oil 3032 for the treatment, it should be applied in two thin coats. We recommend using an Osmo Microfiber roller for this and an Osmo brush for the edges. This creates a wet-look effect. The wood is colored as if it has been wetted. When the choice is made to treat the first layer with a coloring product, such as Hardwax-Olie Natural 3041 or Hardwax-Olie Farbig, the wood does not appear to be stained as if it has been wetted. This is because the color ensures that it is colored to the color of your choice. After applying the first coat of color, only one coat of Hardwax-Olie 3032 needs to be applied. This does not create a wet-look effect.

Apply the first coat of Hardwax Oil to the raw, sanded wood (approx. 35 ml/m²). Application can be done with either a microfiber roller or a brush. Mistakes made during application can be corrected on the wet surface up to 30 minutes after application. Drying time is approx. 8 to 10 hours (at 23°C/50% relative humidity). Drying takes longer at lower temperatures or higher humidity. Ensure good ventilation at all times. Once dry, the second coat can be applied; allow this coat to dry thoroughly as well.

A floor treated with Hardwax Oil 3032 silk matte also requires maintenance. It is recommended to mop the floor weekly or once every two weeks with Osmo Wisch-Fix. This product is based on soaps derived from natural oils. The product nourishes the floor because it contains a small amount of wax. After using the floor for some time, it may show some wear. To refresh these areas, Osmo Liquid Maintenance Wax can be applied locally.

When the floor needs a new coat after many years, it can be cleaned with Osmo Intensive Cleaner and subsequently treated with Osmo Maintenance Oil 3081 silk matte. This Maintenance Oil adheres well to already treated surfaces and provides a new protective layer for the wood.
