Painting Douglas fir with Osmo Country House Paint
Osmo Country House Paint is an opaque paint based on natural oils and waxes. These ingredients penetrate the wood, providing protection against moisture, sunlight, algae, and mold. Because Country House Paint is made from oils and waxes, it lasts between 3 and 6 years and will not peel or crack. Once Douglas fir has been treated with Country House Paint, touching it up is simple. When the paint starts to look less attractive, simply clean the surface and apply a new coat. Sanding is not required because Country House Paint will not peel.

What color should I paint Douglas fir?
You can paint Douglas fir in any desired color. The beautiful colors of the Country House Paint are derived from added organic pigments. The opaque paint is available in 21 standard colors. Is your favorite color not among them? We can have the Country House Paint mixed in 186 RAL colors and 1950 NCS colors. Please contact us for this.
Black paint for Douglas fir
Black is a popular color these days. Many fences and cladding boards are painted black. Painting with Osmo Country House Paint ensures an opaque appearance while the wood grain remains visible. Fence boards that have already been pre-treated with a black color can also be touched up or repainted with Osmo Jet Black paint. This color corresponds to RAL 9005, which is familiar to most people.
Painting Douglas fir white
Another beautiful color is white. The white color is widely used for painting window frames and beams. Garden sheds are also painted with the white variant. There are two white variants in the Osmo range: RAL 9010 Pure White and RAL 9016 Traffic White. RAL 9010 is slightly more cream-colored when compared to RAL 9016, but it is still white. Therefore, RAL 9016 is whiter than RAL 9010; however, RAL 9010 is the most popular color.
Anthracite Douglas paint
When you mix black and white, you naturally get gray. Anthracite is therefore a popular color. Osmo Anthracite 2703 is a dark anthracite color that is close to black, but just a shade lighter. Additionally, Osmo Netherlands also has Anthracite Gray 2713 in its range. This is a more gray color for painting Douglas wood.
