What to use to stain your scaffolding wood?
Scaffolding wood is widely used to make garden furniture such as tables and chairs. Naturally, you want to enjoy the furniture for as long as possible. To extend the lifespan of the wood, it is recommended to treat the scaffolding wood with Osmo Natural Oil Stain. This stain protects the wood against all types of weather: rain, snow, wind, and sun. It also protects against algae and fungi. The treatment lasts approximately 3 to 6 years and can be touched up without sanding.

Scaffolding wood stain colors
Osmo Natural Oil Stain is available in 20 different variants. This stain is highly suitable for treating scaffolding wood that will be placed outdoors, such as tables, chairs, garden sheds, and fences. The colors of the Scaffolding Stain are shown below. To prevent incorrect choices, Osmo Netherlands offers test packs of all stain variants, allowing you to test a small piece on the scaffolding wood. The stain provides a transparent coloring to the wood; it is therefore not opaque. You will still be able to see the grain and wood structure after treatment.
Gray stain for scaffolding wood
Are you looking for a gray stain for scaffolding wood? Then you can choose from 4 different gray variants at Osmo Netherlands. The 905 Patina will color the scaffolding wood as if it has been grayed by the sun. The 906 Pearl Gray is a slightly lighter variant. The 907 is a darker variant compared to the 905. The 903 Basalt Grey is a grey/green color that gives scaffolding wood a beautiful hue. You can simply apply these variants to the wood with an Osmo brush.
Stain grey wash scaffolding wood
A grey wash means that the grain of the scaffolding wood is colored. You can achieve this by applying one of the grey variants of the Stain to the scaffolding wood; this can simply be done with a brush. Make sure to buff off the Stain after 20 minutes using an Easy Pad polishing cloth or lint-free cloth. Always do this along the grain of the wood and the plank. Then (after drying) finish the scaffolding wood with the colorless Stain 701 matte. The 701 can be applied with a brush and does not need to be buffed off afterwards.
Scaffolding wood white wash stain
Just like the Grey Wash, a White Wash can also be created. Naturally, a white stain must be used for this; that is the 900 White. This ensures that the grain of the scaffolding wood is colored white. Apply the white stain to the wood with a brush, then buff the stain after 20 minutes using the buffing cloths in the direction of the wood grain. After drying, the scaffolding wood must be finished with the colorless Stain 701 Matt.
Old look with brown Stain Scaffolding Wood
For an old look, you could apply one of the brown shades such as: 707 Walnut, 708 Teak, or 703 Mahogany. This will give the scaffolding wood a brown old look.
Black stain scaffolding wood
A black appearance can be achieved with the 712 Ebony. This stain colors the wood transparent black. It does not result in an opaque black appearance; you will still be able to see the wood grain and structure. Are you looking for an opaque black stain? Then Osmo Country House Paint RAL 9005 is the right product.
Natural scaffolding wood stain
For a colorless treatment of scaffolding wood, Stain 701 colorless matte can be applied in two coats with a brush. This stains the wood as if it were wet, making it slightly darker in color. The disadvantage of a colorless treatment only is that this stain does not protect against UV radiation and will therefore slowly turn gray. Do you want to protect the scaffolding wood against graying? Then use a stain with color pigment.
