White Wax

Osmo Clear Wax is specially developed for oil-rich tropical hardwoods and offers colourless protection with a light wet look. The product, based on natural oils and waxes, penetrates deep into the wood, protects against moisture and dirt, and is easy to touch up locally. Thanks to its high yield and thin consistency, it is ideal for long-lasting protection and maintenance of dark hardwoods such as Meranti, Wenge, and Merbau.

Information

Osmo Clear Wax is the product for treating hardwoods rich in oil content, which are primarily dark woods.

Examples of these wood types include Meranti, Wenge, Merbau, etc. In the recommendations, you will find the different wood types with the recommended finish for your specific wood type.

Hardwoods (tropical woods) tend to absorb products more slowly.

Osmo Clear Wax is an oil and wax-based product, but with a minimal proportion of wax.
Due to the small proportion of wax, it is easier for woods rich in oil content to absorb the Clear Wax.
1 liter is approximately sufficient for 24 m² with one coat; this depends heavily on the wood type.

Instructions for use

Fully finished surfaces in two days, two coats

1. Apply the first finishing coat to the raw, sanded wood (approx. 35ml/m²).

2. Allow to dry for approximately 30 minutes. Wipe off excess wax and brush over areas that are insufficiently saturated.

3. Drying time is approx. 12 hours (at 23 degrees/50% relative humidity). Drying will take longer at lower temperatures or higher humidity. Ensure good ventilation at all times.

4. Apply the second coat (approx. 35ml/m²).
5. Allow to dry for approximately 30 minutes and then wipe off excess oil.
6. Drying time is approx. 12 hours; see point 3.

Note: Apply a very thin layer.
