Polyx-Oil Effect: the best choice for a natural, untreated look

The natural, untreated look is extremely popular. But how do you achieve this effect?

When wood is sanded, it often has a lighter colour than after it has been treated. To preserve this light appearance, Osmo Polyx-Oil Effect (3041) was developed. The product contains a small amount of white pigment, which helps the wood retain its light, untreated look.

After applying one very thin coat of Polyx-Oil Effect (3041), we recommend finishing with a second coat of Osmo Polyx-Oil Original Clear. This combination creates the desired untreated appearance.

Polyx-Oil: our standard for wood finishes

Optimal protection thanks to the two-coat system. This is how it works: the first coat penetrates the wood to protect it from within, allowing the wood to breathe. The second coat hardens in the upper grain layer, creating a durable protective finish.

Polyx-Oil Effect provides excellent protection against water, beer, wine and other liquids. It is suitable for use on floors, walls, stairs and ceilings. It can be spot-repaired easily without sanding and, once dry, is completely safe for people, animals and plants.

Good to know

• Polyx-Oil Effect is suitable for light-coloured surfaces such as oak, spruce, pine and beech. On darker substrates and wood species, Polyx-Oil Effect may create a white haze.
• It is important that all areas of the wood are covered with Osmo 3041. Due to the white pigment, it can be difficult to see where the product has been applied.

Tip: Check the surface against the light to ensure all areas have been treated with the first coat.
