Description
Osmo Natural Oil Stain is an oil and wax-based product that creates a protective surface after treatment. The surface is then resistant to water, dirt, and sunlight.
The treatment is ideal for protecting all outdoor wooden surfaces. Examples include: Afrormosia, Bankirai, Douglas fir, Pine, Teak, and Larch.
Please note: The minimum processing temperature is 10°C (minimum).
Natural Oil Stain colors
There are a total of 19 different colors of Natural Oil Stain. Are you unsure about which color to choose? We have samples of all colors available. You can use these to test which color gives the desired result on a small piece of wood.
The colors are related to the colors of the different types of wood they are named after. This does not mean that they are only intended for the type of wood they are named after.
Tip from Osmo: Natural Oil Stain with a color pigment offers better protection against UV radiation from the sun (graying). The colorless variant 701 offers less protection against UV rays.
Treating grayed wood
Is the wood grayed? Then it is advisable to first treat the wood with Osmo Power-Gel Wood Degrayer. This wood degrayer brings out the natural color of the wood. After drying, the wood can be treated with a Natural Oil Stain of your choice. We recommend waiting 24 hours before doing so.
Please note:
– Are you building a new terrace or decking? Then the wood may have a maximum moisture content of 20%.
– Rough, old, or untreated wood that has been left outside often absorbs more product, requiring more Natural Oil Stain than recommended. For new wood, we recommend allowing the wood to weather for at least 4 to 6 weeks first. This ensures that the wood is more resistant to the outdoor climate. After weathering, the wood can be de-grayed with Osmo Power-Gel Wood Degrayer.
Maintenance
After treatment with Osmo Natural Oil Stain, it is important to maintain the wood properly. Osmo Deck Cleaner is the product to use to clean your deck, decking, or fence. It is recommended to use this in the spring and fall.
