Step-by-step plan: Keeping Azobe wood in perfect condition
Inspect the wood
Start by assessing the condition of the wood:
- Untreated wood? Then it is time to protect it immediately.
- Wood that is turning gray? You can remove the graying and restore the color.
- Is treated wood still well protected? Then cleaning alone is sufficient.

Cleaning wood
Light dirt or stains?
Use the Osmo Patio Cleaner to remove dirt and deposits. Mix the cleaner with water as directed and apply it with a brush. Rinse thoroughly afterwards and let the wood dry.
The Patio Cleaner has a very high yield; 1L of Wood Patio Cleaner can clean approximately 30 to 100 m². Use an Osmo Patio Brush with a handle to clean the surface.
Is wood turning grey?
For wood types such as azobé, the Osmo Power-Gel is ideal for removing greying. Apply the gel evenly to the wood, let it sit for a moment, and then scrub it clean thoroughly. Rinse everything thoroughly and let it dry before proceeding.
The Wood Degreaser does not drip, making it suitable for use on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. The product can therefore be used on fences, patios, facades, garden furniture, and all other greyed outdoor wood.

Treat for optimal protection and durability
Horizontal wood elements such as decking:
Use Osmo Decking Oil to protect this type of wood against moisture and dirt. Apply a thin layer with a brush or roller and allow it to dry thoroughly. With the right treatment, you ensure that the surface lasts longer.
There are a total of 10 different colors available for this treatment. Unsure which color to choose? We have samples of all colors available. This allows you to test on a small piece of wood which color gives the desired result.
Vertical wood elements such as fences:
For protection against UV radiation and to preserve the original color, use Osmo UV Protection Oil. This treatment will provide protection against UV and thus prevent the surface from graying again. This Osmo treatment provides a long-lasting protective layer to vertical wood surfaces, such as fences, without losing the natural character of the wood.

Tips for a sleek finish
- Apply in thin layers. This penetrates the wood better and ensures a more beautiful end result.
- Choose a dry day and work at temperatures between 10 and 25 degrees Celsius.
