How do I apply the primer?

Using an Osmo Brush or Osmo Microfiber Roller, apply a thin layer of primer to clean, dry wood along the grain, spreading it evenly, preferably on all sides.

What is the drying time of the primer?

The product dries in approximately 3-5 hours (under normal climatic conditions, 23°C/50% relative humidity). Ventilate well during drying. Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity may extend drying times.

How long can the tin be stored?

Two years or longer if stored in the original, sealed tin. Do not expose to frost or temperatures above 30°C!

How many square meters can I treat with the primer?

A 2.5L can covers approximately 30 square meters. Product coverage for one coat is 12 square meters per liter. This depends heavily on the character and condition of the wood. All information applies to smooth and planed/sanded surfaces. Other substrates may result in variations in coverage.

Osmo Primer is suitable for all exterior woodwork requiring a white finish prior to installation. It's ideal for wooden cladding, window frames, fences, garden sheds, pergolas, carports, and gates. Please note: tropical hardwoods and other wood species rich in extractives, such as oak, robinia and larch, should first be left to weather before the primer is applied. Osmo Primer is optimized for professional and, above all, fast application. It is highly drip-resistant and extremely fast-drying, drying in just 3 to 5 hours. This allows both the primer and topcoat to be applied to the wood in a single day. For long-lasting, high-quality protection, a white or light-colored topcoat with Osmo Landhuisverf or Osmo Dekkende Beits is recommended.
