Step-by-step plan: removing green algae from your balcony

Ready to remove the green algae from your balcony? Here is a handy step-by-step plan so you can get started right away.

1

Remove loose dirt

Start by clearing your balcony. Remove furniture, plants and other obstacles so you have enough room to work. Sweep the balcony with a broom to remove loose leaves, sand and dirt.

2

Choose the right cleaner

Fill a bucket with warm water and add Osmo Terrasreiniger. The ratio depends on how dirty the surface is:

  • Light growth: mix 1 part Terrasreiniger with 25 parts water.
  • Heavy growth: mix 1 part Terrasreiniger with 1 part water.

Stir the mixture well.

Apply the cleaner

Use an Osmo Terrasborstel with a telescopic handle to apply the cleaning mixture to the balcony in the direction of the wood grain. Let the product work for a few minutes, but do not let it dry.

Scrub and rinse

Scrub stubborn spots with the deck brush. Then rinse the balcony thoroughly with clean water. Use a garden hose or a watering can, but avoid using a pressure washer, as it can damage the surface.
