Then you can apply the Natural Oil Stain 701 colourless Matte as a second coat. This ensures that the black fence dries to a matte finish.

The Country House Paint is based on natural vegetable oils. Examples include sunflower oil, soybean oil, and thistle oil. This provides the wood with the most natural treatment possible.

Applying black stain to the fence

Are you going to paint a fence? Osmo Black Stain is ideally suited for treating fences. The fence must be clean and dry. Osmo Black Fence Stain is ready to use and does not need to be diluted. In some cases, it may be useful to apply the stain before the fence is installed. Old paint layers and colors must be removed first; this can be done by sanding or by using Osmo Paint Remover Gel.

Always perform a test first to check if the adhesion is good and if you like the color. Apply the first layer of black stain thinly to the fence; this can be done with an Osmo microfiber roller or brush. Apply the product in the direction of the wood grain and plank. Let the first layer dry for 10 to 12 hours, ensuring that it is not raining outside during this time. This will negatively affect the result. After drying, apply the second thin layer to the fence. Allow this to dry sufficiently as well. When renovating the fence, applying one coat of the black stain is sufficient.

Which wood types can be stained black?

The product can be applied to any type of wood used for fences. Think of pine, spruce, oak, and Douglas fir, but also harder wood types such as Bankirai or Azobé. However, it is always wise to perform a test on one plank beforehand to check if the result is satisfactory.
