Products for painting a fence white
Osmo has two different types of white in its range: RAL 9010 and 2101, also known as RAL 9016. These two shades of white are the most commonly used variants outdoors. Due to the high percentage of solids (such as oil), Osmo Country House Paint is unique. It nourishes the wood so that it is not attacked by fungi, applies a protective layer against the sun, and remains open-pored, meaning you no longer need to sand and can simply work over the final coat (after cleaning).
Painting wooden fence white
Are you looking for an opaque paint that protects the wood in addition to a beautiful appearance? Then Osmo Country House Paint is the right product; it creates an opaque white look while allowing the wood grain to remain visible. This paint, based on vegetable oils, protects the wooden fence against graying, moisture, algae, and mold. Furthermore, Country House Paint will not crack or peel; this is because it is not real paint but an oil-based product. The oil penetrates the wood, ensuring that the wood is well protected.
Staining a fence white
In addition to an opaque white look, you can also opt for a stain finish. When staining a fence, you can still see the wood grain and structure, so it does not result in an opaque appearance. Osmo Natural Oil Stain 900 White can be used to stain a wooden fence white. Applying two coats of stain creates a beautiful white look on the wood. The stain protects against UV radiation, moisture such as rain, and against algae and mold.
Fence white wash
Do you want to give the wooden fence a white wash? Then Stain 900 White can be used. You can apply the first coat with a lint-free cloth instead of rolling or brushing; this ensures that only the wood grain is colored white. After drying, apply 2 coats of the colorless Stain 701 Matt with a roller or brush. You can also choose to apply one coat of Stain 900 White with a roller or brush and the second coat with the colorless Stain 701. This results in a less white appearance than two coats of the white stain.

How to paint a wooden fence white?
Have you chosen a white paint or stain? Then we will explain how to apply these Osmo products to the wood.
1. Stir the paint or stain well for 2 minutes. After opening the can, the oil and pigments have separated. Always perform a test first to check if the product adheres well and the result is satisfactory.
2. Apply the first coat to the new or sanded wood using a brush or floor brush.
3. Mistakes made during application can be corrected on the wet surface up to 15 minutes after application. Think of roller marks or brush hairs.
4. The drying time for the first coat is approximately 10-12 hours (at 23 degrees and 50% relative humidity). Drying takes longer at lower temperatures or higher humidity. Ensure proper ventilation at all times. Therefore, ensure that it is not applied during bad weather or rain. 5. Apply the second coat of paint or stain. Apply this in the same way as the first coat.
6. Drying time is approximately 12 hours; see point 4.
An advantage of Osmo products is that when you want to apply a new coat to the wood, you do not need to sand beforehand. You can simply apply the new coat over the old Osmo layer. Do you want to apply Osmo paint or stain over a product from another manufacturer? Then it is recommended to test this first using the Osmo test packs. Check whether the new coat adheres to the wood and whether the product provides the desired appearance.
