Step-by-step plan: cleaning and maintaining a wooden floor

With this step-by-step plan, you clean your wooden floor thoroughly and make sure it looks clean, fresh and well cared for again.

1

Vacuum and dry clean

Start by vacuuming or sweeping so that sand and loose dirt are removed.
This prevents scratches while mopping.

2

Choose the right cleaning product

For intensive cleaning, use Osmo Intensiefreiniger.
For regular maintenance, you can use Osmo Wisch-Fix.

3

Dilute the cleaner with water

Mix the product with water according to the instructions.
This way you use the product sparingly and the floor does not get too wet.

4

Clean with pads or a mop

Use special pads or a mop to get deep into the wood grain.
Also remove small stains and ground-in dirt.

5

Let the floor dry

Let the surface dry thoroughly before you continue.
Ventilate the room while it dries.

6

Apply Onderhoudsolie if needed

If the floor is clean but has become dull, apply Onderhoudsolie (maintenance oil).
This restores the luster and protection of the wood.

7

Maintain regularly

Mop once every two weeks to prevent wear.
Do not use vinegar or green soap, as they dry out the wood.

8

Work with the right sets and tools

Use cleaning sets and tools to work easily and efficiently.
This keeps your floor beautiful and well protected for years.

Cleaning an oiled wooden floor

Once you have finished dry cleaning and vacuuming, so that all the dust is gone, dilute the Intensiefreiniger with water according to the instructions and apply it. With special pads you can get deep into the grain of the wood and remove even the tiniest stains and dirt. Then mop again with clean water and let the floor dry thoroughly. Once this has been done properly, all you need to do is apply the Onderhoudsolie. This oil is specially developed to restore the luster and protection of your floor, so it looks its best again.

Clean your wooden floor yourself

If you have a free Sunday, this is the perfect job to do. You will enjoy your sparkling clean floor for a long time. And as soon as you notice stains starting to appear again, you can simply repeat the treatment. No need to spend a lot of money on cleaning companies and stay home for hours waiting for them. You can do this at your own pace, in your own time. Osmo Wisch-Fix cleans the floor for you. A highly concentrated cleaning product that offers great value for money. Specially developed for cleaning and maintenance.

Cleaning a wooden floor thoroughly

You will be surprised how easily and quickly you can do this yourself. The floor cleaner Osmo Wisch-Fix is particularly well suited to all types of wooden floors treated with Osmo Hardwax-Olie. A floor is something you look at and walk on every day, and you will notice even the smallest bits of dirt. Once you start taking care of it yourself, you will be annoyed much less often, because you are in control. Various cleaning sets are also available, so you have everything you need.

Intensive cleaning made easy

A floor that is kept nice and clean lasts a long time. By occasionally spending a little time on cleaning, you keep the floor in better condition. The result is years of sparkling clean enjoyment. Most people spend a lot of money on a real wooden floor instead of laminate. Such a floor naturally deserves regular maintenance so you can really enjoy it. The cleaning products are easy to use and very effective. They do not dry out the wood and add moisture where needed. The soaps used in these products are all based on natural oils, so they do not harm your wood.

Damage to wood

Many people make the mistake of cleaning too little. If you do it once every two weeks, you prevent long-term damage to your expensive floor. You can compare wood to skin: if you use a cream now and then, the result is good quality and a radiant face. So mopping now and then certainly does no harm and is definitely recommended. But when you mop, do not use vinegar or green soap. Both products will clean, but they dry out the wood, which in turn can lead to a lot of wear.

Different systems and tools

When you look for ways to keep your floor clean and beautiful for a long time, you are often overwhelmed with information. On our website you will find plenty of clear information about how to keep your wooden floor clean effectively without too much effort. Besides cleaning products, there are also many different tools and systems you can use to treat the floor. We offer sets that you can add straight to your shopping cart, so you can get started right away.
