What is acacia wood?
Acacia wood is a popular hardwood. Due to the high density of the wood fibers, acacia wood is low-maintenance and particularly durable. It is therefore not surprising that acacia wood is very popular for both indoor and outdoor use. Acacia wood naturally has a warm brown color, a fine grain, and a unique flame pattern. In terms of color, acacia wood can actually vary greatly: from yellow with a greenish tint to an average golden brown color.
Although acacia wood naturally has a warm color that appeals to many, we do not recommend leaving the acacia wood untreated. If you do not treat and maintain the acacia wood, it will not be sufficiently protected and will damage quickly. By maintaining your indoor acacia wood with Osmo products, you can protect it against moisture, dirt, and damage for years.
Maintain acacia wood without color difference
Do you want to maintain acacia wood furniture in your home without any color differences occurring? Then the best choice is Osmo TopOil in the color Acacia. This treatment, which contains the same color as acacia wood, will ensure that the surface is protected without any color variation. Osmo TopOil can be applied to the wood by polishing, or with a brush or roller. Polishing the product into the wood creates a light coverage. If you choose to apply the product with a brush or roller, more product will be applied per coat.
To make future surface maintenance easy, we recommend applying a colorless topcoat on top of the color layer. This topcoat is easy to touch up in the future without color differences occurring. By applying one coat of the colorless Osmo TopOil as a topcoat, you ensure years of protection and a low-maintenance surface.

Darkening acacia wood
Would you prefer a darker color on the acacia wood? That is certainly possible too. By applying only a colorless layer to the acacia wood, you create a permanent wet look. This gives the same appearance as if you were to slightly dampen the wood with water. A colorless treatment will ensure that the color of the wood is deepened. As a result, the wood will turn a shade darker.
Would you like to color the acacia wood even darker? Then opt for a treatment with a dark stain. You can also apply Osmo Topoil to acacia wood. TopOil can be used for a subtle effect. When TopOil is buffed into the wood, a subtle coloring will be applied. Finish the colored layer with a colorless topcoat for a low-maintenance surface.
Lightening acacia wood
By choosing a coloring treatment in a light shade, you can easily lighten acacia wood. Osmo TopOil is also ideally suited for a light appearance. With Osmo TopOil, you can give the wood both light and fuller coverage. For example, you can create a lighter look with Osmo TopOil, Acacia. Many more options are available in this genre: with TopOil 3039, Graphite, for instance, a grey wash can also be created.
To keep the light color layer on the wood looking beautiful for as long as possible, we recommend applying a colorless topcoat, but applying multiple color layers will give you an opaque appearance. The colorless layer is the easiest to maintain in the future without color differences developing. If you choose a wash effect, only a small amount of product is applied to the surface. To still protect the surface optimally, we recommend applying 3 layers of Colorless topcoat by polishing.
