Osmo Hardwax Oil 3062
Osmo Hardwax Oil 3062 Matt is a colorless product that protects the wood. After treatment, it creates a protective surface against moisture and dirt and is scratch-resistant. The 3062 is suitable for treating wooden floors such as oak, pine, and beech. In fact, the product is suitable for all indoor floors, except tropical hardwoods. The effect created by Osmo 3062 is a very natural, matte appearance. It colors the wood as if it has been wetted. After treatment, the wood becomes slightly darker. Protect wood
The combination of oil and wax makes the product highly suitable for wooden floors. After treatment, the wood is protected against moisture such as wine, beer, and soft drinks. In addition to protection, Hardwax-Oil 3062 matte can also be touched up locally. If the wood suffers from severe damage, such as deep scratches or water damage, the affected plank can be sanded down and given a new, thin layer of 3062. Furthermore, after drying, the product is not harmful to humans, animals, or plants. It can therefore also be used for tapas boards and children's toys.
Applying Osmo Hardwax Oil 3062
Apply the first coat of Hardwax Oil (with or without color) to the raw, sanded wood (approx. 35 ml/m²). Application can be done with either a microfiber roller or a brush. Mistakes made during application can be corrected on the wet surface up to 30 minutes after application. Drying takes approx. 8 to 10 hours (at 23°C/50% relative humidity). Drying takes longer at lower temperatures or higher humidity. Ensure good ventilation at all times. After drying, the second coat can be applied using Hardwax Oil 3062 Matt. Allow this coat to dry thoroughly as well.
Finish in two coats
When applying the 3062 Matt, two thin coats should be applied to the bare sanded or untreated wood. It is recommended to apply this using an Osmo Microfiber roller or floor brush. A brush is useful for the edges and corners. Applying only the 3062 creates a wet-look effect, causing the wood to turn slightly darker.
If you prefer to apply a color as the first coat, the Hardwax Oil 3062 Matt can be used as a top coat. You first apply one coat of color using Hardwax Oil Farbig or Natural 3041 and finish with the 3062. This creates a color effect with a matte finish. After applying the first coat of color, only one coat of Hardwax Oil 3062 needs to be applied. This combination does not create a wet-look effect.
Osmo 3062 maintenance
To ensure the treated floor lasts a long time, it is recommended to maintain it regularly. Maintaining floors treated with Osmo is easy. It is advised to mop the floor weekly or once every two weeks with Osmo Wisch-Fix. This floor cleaner contains a small amount of wax, which ensures that the wood is nourished and does not dry out.
After using the floor for some time, it may start to show some wear. To refresh these areas, Osmo Liquid Maintenance Wax can be applied locally.
When the floor needs a new coat after many years, it can be cleaned with Osmo Intensive Cleaner and then treated with Osmo Maintenance Oil 3079 Matt. This Maintenance Oil adheres well to already treated surfaces and provides a new protective layer for the wood.
