Can I use the oil without an LED lamp?

No. LED Smart-Oil does not dry in the air and only cures under UV LED light with a wavelength of 395 nm, such as the Osmo UV LED SmartLight Pro. With an underpowered lamp the surface will not cure completely.

How much oil do I need?

1 kg covers 40 to 50 m² per coat. Actual consumption depends strongly on the wood species and surface.

How many coats are needed?

One coat is enough for a matt finish. For a satin sheen, sand the first coat smooth with P240-P320 and apply a second, very thin coat (approx. 5-10 g/m²).

Is the oil suitable for a table or kitchen worktop?

Yes. The cured oil is food safe (DIN EN 1186-3), resistant to wine, coffee and water (DIN EN 12720) and suitable for children's toys (EN 71.3).

How long does the oil keep?

6 months if stored in its original, sealed container and protected from temperatures above 30°C. We therefore recommend ordering smaller quantities more often.

For professional and industrial use only, for example furniture and interior makers, staircase builders and vocational schools.

Description

Osmo LED Smart-Oil

Osmo LED Smart-Oil is a high-quality, matt wood oil that cures instantly under the Osmo UV LED SmartLight Pro. A single coat creates an open-pored, breathable surface that resists wine, beer, cola, coffee and water (DIN EN 12720). As soon as the oil has been exposed, the wood can be stacked, sanded or delivered straight away. No more waiting time in the workshop.

Please note: this oil is for professional and industrial use only. LED Smart-Oil does not dry in the air and only cures with a suitable UV LED lamp, such as the Osmo UV LED SmartLight Pro.

Application

Suitable for all wooden furniture, stairs and floors indoors. Particularly suitable for wood species rich in extractives and for public spaces where instant curing is required.

Colours

Available in 12 matt colours, from 5980 Clear to 5985 Black. The oil enhances the natural colour of the wood (permanent wet look). Choose 5984 Natural for an almost untreated appearance. With coloured oil, apply the first coat in colour and the second coat clear, except for 5981 White.

Safe once cured

The cured finish is safe for people, animals and plants, resistant to saliva and perspiration (DIN 53160), suitable for children's toys (EN 71.3) and food safe (DIN EN 1186-3). The VOC content is max. 10 g/l.

Please note: the oil keeps for 6 months if stored in its original, sealed container and protected from temperatures above 30°C.
