The right wooden floor cleaner makes the difference between cleaning and damaging. Read how to safely clean your floor and keep the protective layer intact.

What you need for this tutorial;
A wooden floor is a stylish and warm addition to any interior. Whether you have a sleek parquet floor or a robust wooden floor, proper maintenance is essential to preserve the appearance and longevity of the wood. The right wooden floor cleaner makes all the difference. In this text, you will learn which products are suitable for different cleaning occasions, how to prevent damage, and the difference between a daily cleaner and an intensive treatment.
With the right Osmo products, you keep your wooden floor clean, beautiful, and protected.
Step-by-step wooden floor cleaner plan for every type of job
Cleaning wooden floors requires a different approach than, for example, tiles or laminate. Wood is porous and sensitive to moisture, so products such as all-purpose cleaner or green soap are not recommended. Follow the step-by-step plan below for the best cleaning and care.
Vacuuming or sweeping
Remove loose dirt, sand, and dust daily with a soft broom or a vacuum cleaner. This prevents scratches when you mop. Dirt accumulates quickly, especially in high-traffic areas – regular vacuuming prevents unnecessary wear and tear on the floor.

Clean with Wisch-Fix
For weekly cleaning, Osmo Wisch-Fix is indispensable. This cleaner is specially developed for oiled wooden floors and contains natural soap based on vegetable oils and wax. Wisch-Fix cleans gently and nourishes the wood with every mop.
How to use it:
- Add one capful of Wisch-Fix to 2 liters of clean water.
- Use an Osmo mop and wring it out well (damp, not wet).
- Mop in the direction of the wood grain and mop dry if necessary. Allow the floor to air dry.
Wisch-Fix leaves no streaks and ensures that the protective oil layer of your floor lasts longer. The nourishing effect of this product prevents the wood from drying out and supports a beautiful, matte appearance.

Tackle stains and dull spots with Liquid Maintenance Wax
Time to refresh localized wear spots? Then Osmo Liquid Maintenance Wax is a perfect solution. It nourishes the wood with natural waxes, without building up a layer.
How to use it:
- Apply a small amount to an Osmo Microfiber Cloth or with the Osmo Fleece Pad.
- Gently rub over the spot in circular motions.
- Dries in approximately 30 to 40 minutes with good ventilation.

Clean thoroughly with Osmo Intensive Cleaner
For heavily soiled floors or when thorough maintenance is required, use the Osmo Intensive Cleaner. This intensive cleaner removes accumulated soap residue, grease, and deep-seated dirt.
- Intensive cleaning approach:
- Dilute the cleaner. Concentrate: 1:10 to 1:20.
- Apply the cleaner to the surface using the Osmo Green Pad.
- Remove the loosened dirt with a damp Osmo mop.
After cleaning with the Osmo Intensive Cleaner, treat the floor again with Osmo Maintenance Oil. The maintenance oil is a diluted version of the Hardwax Oil, penetrates deep into the wood, and restores natural protection and appearance. The surface is resealed against moisture and stains, without the need for sanding.
