Wenge indoors
The best Osmo finishes for wenge indoors
The best way to treat wenge indoors is with Osmo Blanke Was or TopOil, because wenge's coarse pores easily trap dust without a finish, and an oil makes the surface easier to keep clean.

Oil for wenge indoors
For wenge indoors, use Osmo Blanke Was, and Osmo TopOil on tabletops. Wenge is a very dark tropical wood with coarse pores, and an oil makes the surface dirt-repellent and easier to keep clean.
Which oil for which wenge surface
For a wenge floor, Blanke Was is the best choice. It is made for oily tropical hardwoods such as wenge and merbau, which do not easily absorb an ordinary hardwax oil. Treat a wenge table or sideboard with TopOil, which is food-safe and resistant to coffee, wine and water. Apply TopOil to wenge by buffing, in thin coats with a pad or lint-free cloth.
No white haze on dark wood
On a wood as dark as wenge, a fully matt oil can leave a white haze in the pores. So choose Blanke Was, which is satin matt, and with TopOil choose 3028 satin matt. Products with white pigment are intended for light wood species. That way the deep, almost black colour stays even.
Coarse pores
Without a finish, the coarse pores of wenge easily trap dust and dirt. Apply the oil thinly, work it well into the pores and buff away the excess after a few minutes with a lint-free cloth. That way no shiny patches or drips are left in the pores. Always test first on an offcut.
Maintaining oiled wenge
Mop a wenge floor with Wisch-Fix and refresh worn areas with the Vloeibare Onderhoudswas. Keep tables and furniture clean with the Spray-Cleaner.
