Finish a wooden frame indoors with Osmo Hardwax-Olie Original or Osmo Deur-Olie. An oil soaks into the wood and lets it breathe, so the finish will not flake. You can touch up damage locally, without sanding or painting the whole frame.
Window frame or door frame
For the inside of a window frame, use Hardwax-Olie Original, in two thin coats. The surface becomes water-repellent, which is useful with condensation on the sill. For a door frame, choose the same Deur-Olie as for the interior door, so that door and frame look the same.
Sunlight and colour
Wood slowly changes colour under the influence of daylight. A clear oil lets this happen evenly, while a coloured product helps to limit discolouration. The pigment absorbs part of the light. If you want to keep light wood species light, choose Deur-Olie 3033 Raw, with a small amount of white pigment. For more colour there is Hardwax-Olie Farbig. Always test on an inconspicuous spot first.
Preparation and application
Lightly sand the frame and make it dust-free. Mask off the glass and wall with tape. Apply the oil thinly with a small brush, in the direction of the grain, and buff off the excess after a few minutes. This gives an even result without drips in the corners. Only remove the tape once the oil is dry.
Maintenance
Remove dust and fingerprints with the Spray-Cleaner. Refresh dull spots with Vloeibare Onderhoudswas. Wipe away condensation on the sill regularly, so the finish there stays looking good for longest.
