    Osmo Hardwax-Oil Rapid 3232 semi-matt and 3262 matt create a colorless protection for most wooden floors. Rapid is an oil- and wax-based product, which provides a protective surface after treatment. By wetting the untreated wood, you can get an impression of the appearance after treatment with Osmo Hardwax-Oil Rapid 3232 and 3262; a permanent wet look is created after treatment. This applies when using only Hardwax-Oil Rapid. Applying a color first and then a coat of Rapid to the wood won't create a wet-look effect. Thanks to Rapid's fast-drying properties, you can create a fully finished surface within 4-6 hours.

Hardwax-Oil Express Drying Time The Express dries within 2 to 3 hours (at the correct temperature of 23°C and 50% humidity). Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity may increase the drying time. Applying too much can also increase the drying time. Adding Osmo Hardener 6632 can shorten the drying time of this product to 1 to 2 hours. Osmo Hardener 6632 This hardener can be added to Osmo Hardwax-Oil Express to accelerate the drying time to 1 to 2 hours. Please note: after adding the hardener to the Hardwax-Oil Express, the Hardwax-Oil should not be left for longer than 90 minutes. Note: 0.15L of hardener is just enough for 2.5L of Hardwax-Oil Express. If you want to use less Hardwax-Oil, add 6% of the hardener to the product. The pot life after adding the hardener is 90 minutes.

Oil for birch indoors

For birch indoors, use Osmo Hardwax-Olie Original or Osmo TopOil. Birch has a fine, calm structure with little figure, and a transparent oil keeps that light appearance intact instead of hiding it under an opaque layer.

Which oil for which birch surface

For a birch floor, staircase or wall, choose Hardwax-Olie Original, in two thin coats. Birch plywood and solid birch are also widely used for cabinets, tables, desks and kitchens. There, TopOil is the best choice, because it resists coffee, wine and water and is food safe. Once dry, both are harmless to people, animals and plants, so they are also suitable for a child's bedroom.

Keeping birch light

An ordinary clear oil makes birch slightly warmer and more yellow, the so-called wet look. If you want the wood to stay light, apply Hardwax-Olie Effect Natural 3041 as the first coat. It contains a small amount of white pigment, specially for light wood species. Then finish with one coat of Hardwax-Olie Original. For tabletops, TopOil 3068 Natural does the same.

Adding colour to birch

Birch takes colour evenly. For a subtle wood tint, buff on one coat of Decorwas Transparant, for example in 3136 Berken, and finish with two coats of clear Hardwax-Olie Original. For a white or grey look on a floor or wall, use Hardwax-Olie Farbig. Always test a colour first on offcuts or an inconspicuous spot.

Caring for oiled birch

Clean furniture and tabletops with the Spray-Cleaner. Mop a floor with Wisch-Fix, and over time refresh worn areas with the Vloeibare Onderhoudswas, without sanding.
