    Osmo Hardwax-Oil Rapid 3232 semi-matt and 3262 matt create a colorless protection for most wooden floors. Rapid is an oil- and wax-based product, which provides a protective surface after treatment. The product uses a two-layer system: the first layer is fully absorbed into the wood, while the second layer hardens in the upper pores of the wood. The surface appearance is very natural, as the product emphasizes the color of the wood. By wetting the untreated wood, you can get an impression of the appearance after treatment with Osmo Hardwax-Oil Rapid 3232 and 3262; a permanent wet look is created after treatment. This applies when using only Hardwax-Oil Rapid. Applying a color first and then a coat of Rapid to the wood won't create a wet-look effect. Thanks to Rapid's fast-drying properties, you can create a fully finished surface within 4-6 hours.

Hardwax-Oil Express Drying Time The Express dries within 2 to 3 hours (at the correct temperature of 23°C and 50% humidity). Lower temperatures and/or higher humidity may increase the drying time. Applying too much can also increase the drying time. Adding Osmo Hardener 6632 can shorten the drying time of this product to 1 to 2 hours. Osmo Hardener 6632 This hardener can be added to Osmo Hardwax-Oil Express to accelerate the drying time to 1 to 2 hours. Please note: after adding the hardener to the Hardwax-Oil Express, the Hardwax-Oil should not be left for longer than 90 minutes. Note: 0.15L of hardener is just enough for 2.5L of Hardwax-Oil Express. If you want to use less Hardwax-Oil, add 6% of the hardener to the product. The pot life after adding the hardener is 90 minutes.

Oil for beech indoors

For beech indoors, use Osmo TopOil on tables and worktops and Osmo Hardwax-Olie Original on floors and stairs. Beech is hard with a fine texture, and an oil finish keeps the surface hard-wearing and easy to touch up locally.

Which oil for which beech surface

Beech is popular for kitchen worktops, tables and toys. For those surfaces, choose TopOil, which is food-safe and resistant to coffee, wine and water. For a beech floor or stairs, use two thin coats of Hardwax-Olie Original, which cures to a hard-wearing finish in the upper pores of the wood.

Beech and moisture

Beech moves more than many other wood species: it expands when damp and shrinks when dry. So also finish the underside and end grain of a top, so the wood absorbs and releases moisture equally fast on all sides. Wipe up spilt water on a worktop straight away, especially around the sink.

Keeping it light or adding colour

Over time, light makes beech turn somewhat more yellow. For a light, almost untreated look, first apply Hardwax-Olie Effect Natural 3041 and then one coat of Hardwax-Olie Original. If you want colour instead, Hardwax-Olie Farbig gives an even tint on floors, and Decorwas Transparant in 3102 Beuken licht gives furniture a subtle wood tint. Always test on offcuts first.

Maintaining oiled beech

Keep a worktop or table clean with the Spray-Cleaner. Mop a floor with Wisch-Fix and refresh it with the Vloeibare Onderhoudswas. That way the finish stays beautiful for years without any need for sanding.
