Osmo Blanke Was
Osmo Clear Wax is the product for treating hardwood and tropical woods. These are generally darker woods, which are greasier than other types of wood. Examples of these woods include Meranti, Wenge, and Merbau. In the "Documents" section, you will find the different wood types and the recommended finish for your type. Hardwoods (tropical woods) often have the tendency to absorb products like Osmo Hardwax-Oil with greater difficulty. Therefore, Osmo developed Clear Wax, which is suitable for most hardwoods. Osmo Clear Wax is an oil- and wax-based product, but with a minimal wax content. This is beneficial for hardwoods, as they are naturally somewhat greasier. The small wax content makes it easier for hardwoods to absorb the Clear Wax. Due to its excellent water-repellent properties, it is also very suitable for treating wood in damp areas, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and swimming pools. After treatment, the hardwood oil protects against wear, dirt, and moisture and can be reapplied locally. Important: Always test the wood surface first to ensure the floor absorbs the product well and to determine the desired result. One liter is sufficient for approximately 24 m² with one coat; this depends greatly on the wood type.

Osmo Hardener 6632 This hardener can be added to Osmo Hardwax-Oil Express to accelerate the drying time to 1 to 2 hours. Oil for acacia wood indoors
For acacia wood indoors, use Osmo TopOil or Osmo Hardwax-Olie. An oil finish leaves the pores of acacia open instead of sealing them under a layer of lacquer, so the wood can keep moving and its distinctive grain stays visible.
Which oil for which acacia surface
Indoors, acacia is mostly used for table tops, worktops and furniture. For those surfaces TopOil is the logical choice, as it is made for furniture surfaces that come into frequent contact with moisture and food. If the acacia is on the floor or a piece of furniture takes heavy use, choose Hardwax-Olie Original.
Acacia is naturally hard and oily
Acacia is a hard wood species that naturally contains quite a lot of its own oil. So sand and degrease the surface thoroughly before you start, otherwise the oil will soak in unevenly. Apply thin coats and buff them well: if too much product is left on the surface, it will feel sticky and dry slowly.
Colour and colour variation
Acacia has a warm tone with considerable colour variation between the boards. A clear oil deepens that colour and actually makes the contrast stronger. If you want a more even look or a different shade, first use Decorwas Transparant or Olie-Beits and finish with a clear hardwax oil. Always test the colour first on an offcut or an inconspicuous spot.
Maintaining oiled acacia
Keep an oiled acacia surface in good condition with Wisch-Fix, which cleans and nourishes the wood at the same time. If the surface looks dull over time or wears in busy spots, Vloeibare Onderhoudswas refreshes it again, without any need to sand.
