Opaque with Landhuisverf
Landhuisverf is an oil-based opaque paint for summer houses, fences, window frames and carports. The wood structure stays visible and the paint does not peel or crack, because it lets the wood breathe. Touching up is possible without sanding, straight over the old coat. There are 21 colours, which you can also mix, so the shed matches your house or fence.
Transparent with Natuurlijke Olie-Beits
Natuurlijke Olie-Beits is a primer and top coat in one and suitable for all outdoor wood. Apply two coats. Pigmented colours protect against UV, the clear 701 does not.
Preparation
Let new wood weather for at least six weeks, then make sure it is clean and dry. Give the bottom boards, the end grain and the edges around windows and doors extra attention, as that is where moisture penetrates first. Always test a colour with a sample first. One litre of Landhuisverf covers about 26 m² per coat. Rinse used cloths with water afterwards, as oily cloths can self-ignite.
Maintenance
Clean the shed with Terrasreiniger, which also removes green deposits, and never use a pressure washer. Touch up the sunny side and the bottom boards first. Also see shutters, fence and carport.
