Oil and stain for wooden garden furniture
Finish wooden garden furniture with Osmo Terras-Olie or Osmo Natuurlijke Olie-Beits. Garden furniture has horizontal surfaces such as seats and table tops, where rainwater and dirt collect. That is why it needs an oil that penetrates the wood, repels water and lets the wood breathe.
Terras-Olie
Terras-Olie is made for wooden terraces and garden furniture and protects against water and dirt. The pigmented versions also protect against UV light and slow down greying. Choose a colour that suits the wood; the colours are named after the wood species they resemble. The clear 007 Teakolie offers no protection against UV. Apply two thin coats and wipe off excess oil after a few minutes.
Natuurlijke Olie-Beits
Natuurlijke Olie-Beits is a primer and top coat in one and suitable for all outdoor wood. Apply two coats. Pigmented colours protect against UV, the clear 701 does not. For your wood species, also see teak or oak.
Preparation
If a piece of garden furniture has already turned grey, first remove the grey with Power-Gel. It removes the grey layer and green deposits. Let new wood weather for at least six weeks and always test a colour with a sample first. One litre of Terras-Olie covers about 24 m² per coat, and Natuurlijke Olie-Beits about 26 m². Rinse used cloths with water afterwards, as oily cloths can self-ignite.
Maintenance
Clean garden furniture with Terrasreiniger and never use a pressure washer. Store it somewhere dry and airy in winter. When renovating, apply no more than one thin coat. Also see terrace.
